Role Overview:
As a Platform Engineer (Backup), you will be responsible for handling daily platform system tasks, implementations, and ensuring service availability. You’ll work within structured IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support enterprise-level backup and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and administer backup systems (Commvault, Veritas, Veeam, MS Azure, DellEMC IDPA)
Support multi-tenancy backup environments and data replication strategies
Configure and manage backup appliances, tape libraries, and cloud backup services
Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
Ensure compliance with ITIL standards and best practices
Collaborate with Service Desk and NOC teams for platform issue resolution
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience level: Junior, Intermediate, or Expert
Strong knowledge of backup solutions & storage systems
Experience with Linux/UNIX & Windows environments
Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, Azure & Oracle OCI workloads
Certifications in backup systems (Commvault, Veritas, etc.) are required
Red Hat, ITIL, or hardware certifications are a plus
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
