Job Title: Software Asset Manager / IT Asset Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Software Asset Manager (SAM) / IT Asset Manager (ITAM) to oversee the end-to-end management of software assets and licensing agreements. The role involves ensuring compliance, optimizing software usage, negotiating contracts, and implementing best practices for asset lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage license and contract renewals for major software publishers such as Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft.

Oversee the Software Asset Management (SAM) lifecycle, from software discovery to building the Effective License Position (ELP).

Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and optimize software utilization across the organization.

Negotiate with software vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and cost savings.

Implement strategies to optimize software asset usage and mitigate compliance risks.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align software procurement and usage with business objectives.

Maintain accurate records of software assets, licenses, and renewal schedules.

Develop and enforce IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies and procedures to enhance IT asset lifecycle management.

Conduct regular audits and reviews of IT assets to ensure compliance and identify discrepancies.

Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve efficiency in IT asset management.

Provide training and guidance to employees on SAM and ITAM best practices.

Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in software licensing to ensure the organization follows the latest best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field.

Proven experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) and IT Asset Management (ITAM).

Strong knowledge of software licensing agreements, compliance, and vendor management.

Experience working with major software publishers such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, and others.

Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

Familiarity with ITAM/SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, ServiceNow, Snow Software, or equivalent).
